Starbucks announced today that it will hire 1,000 full- and part-time employees across its U.S. headquarters to help meet its 2020 goal of hiring 500,000 employees by 2021.
“We are extremely excited to bring this much-needed new team to the Seattle, Washington, and Los Angeles regions,” Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said in a statement.
Schultz made the announcement during a company-wide event that was attended by several hundred employees and industry officials, including the CEO of Starbucks, Robert Y. Yang, and former President and CEO Howard Katz.
According to Schultz, the company expects the hiring to start in the spring of 2021 and to last up to two years.
The hiring will not only be for the Starbucks Coffee Roasters and Starbucks Coffee, but for Starbucks Coffee and Starbucks Global, Starbucks Coffee Stores and Starbucks Food & Wine.
It will help Starbucks reach its 2020 2020 goal to employ 1 million people globally.
