Two of Louisville’s best coffee spots, Cafe Renaissance and Sweetheart Coffee, have closed in the last two years.
They were the first to close this year, according to a news release from the Louisville Chamber of Commerce.
Sweetheart Coffee opened in 2011 and Cafe Renasissance opened in 2016.
The business is now owned by the company’s owner, Amy Siegel.
Siegel did not return a phone call from FourFour Two seeking comment.
The two cafes were known for their quality coffee.
The news release did not say when Cafe Reneissance would reopen.
Cafe Renausion and SweetHeart Coffee had a similar location on South Broadway and were popular with people of all ages.
“We were all over the place at Sweetheart and we had our best time there,” said co-owner Melissa Stinson, who is now at home in Florida.
While Sweetheart’s closure is disappointing, it’s a reminder that Louisville still has plenty of coffee shops.
Last year, Eater Louisville named the city’s coffee shops the best in the country.
