The Claremont Coffee Shop in Claremont, Calif., is shutting down after being shuttered for the last two years.
Claremont has been a popular destination for coffee shops in California, and the Claremont Cafes, a new venture from coffee chain Soka Gakkai, is hoping to take the place.
The company says that it has been “in the coffee business for almost 30 years,” but has struggled with low profits.
The coffee chain has been trying to find new revenue sources since the closure of its last coffee shop in 2013.
The news of the closing of the Claremo has caused a stir on social media, with many asking if Claretmont will reopen as a cafe and possibly reopen as an eatery.
Claremont Coffee is located at the corner of El Camino Real and La Plaza, and is owned by the owners of a chain of coffee shops that include La Caffe del Sur, La Cone, and La Lucha, among others.
A Twitter account @Claremccafes said it is closing “to ensure that the business can be revitalized.”
